Bladeshot Issue 2 alternate cover
Published by Sheath Comics After Dark
Art by Matt Campbell with color assist by Bryan Magnaye
This project was fun. I was given 2 reference images for the character design as it was a new design for the comic. I made up the preliminary sketches. Once the client picked one I drew the design on 11x17” bristol board. I made a duplicate of the pencils to ink on and the inks were sold with the client’s kickstarter.

Bladeshot preliminary sketches. In most cases I provide a few prelims for a client to chose from.
Bladeshot comic cover pencils. Focused on dynamic action and making it dark enough to be a stand alone art piece.
Bladeshot comic inks. (SOLD) Inking gives the image pop and gives the colorist the ability to easily change the color of the line art.
Bladeshot comic cover colored. Although I purposely left room at the top for a title the client decided to put a small logo at the bottom.
